All Aboard ‘The Gravy Train’ for Super Rugby Game Day at Eden Park with KFC’s Exciting Delivery Service.
Prepare for an unforgettable journey as KFC unveils its groundbreaking ‘super delivery’ service set to depart from Britomart Station for the Blues vs Force game at Eden Park. Dubbed ‘The Gravy Train,’ this innovative concept marks KFC’s inaugural themed train delivery service, celebrating their partnership with the Blues. The service promises a free-on-board experience for all ticket holders traveling to Eden Park on Friday, April 5th, ahead of the match.
This unique collaboration also serves as a gesture of support for Auckland Transport (AT), encouraging event attendees to consider alternative transportation options when commuting to and from major events, where free public transport is often provided alongside event tickets.
Crafted by Special PR, the campaign encompasses creative direction, design, experiential activities, content development, media relations, and influencer engagement. The initiative receives additional support from PHD for media planning and buying, as well as integrated experience expertise from MediaWorks, facilitating coordination and implementation across the Auckland Transport network.
Passengers boarding ‘The Gravy Train’ from Britomart station to Eden Park will be greeted by none other than Carlos Spencer, serving as the inaugural ‘Train Conclucktor.’
Leanne Too, KFC’s Marketing Director, expresses enthusiasm, stating, “This is an incredible opportunity to show our support for Super Rugby, while simultaneously championing our ‘Super Delivery’ campaign from Stanley Street that highlights the effort KFC goes to with our home delivery service.”
Kelly Grindle, Managing Director at Special PR, shares insights into the agency’s ethos, saying, “We created Special PR with a desire to create truly famous work that blurs the boundaries of marketing disciplines – whether that’s a fine dining experience with Hercules Noble, a jewelry collaboration with Nick Von K, or a fully operational ‘Gravy Train’ for Super Rugby.”
Amanda Palenski, Creative Integration Lead at PHD, adds, “Media magic is an integral part of what we do here at PHD, so we are excited to be involved in an activation that will no doubt drive a lot of talkability and buzz.”
MediaWorks Outdoor CEO, Mike Watkins, applauds the innovative campaign, emphasizing its successful integration of advertising formats across Auckland Transport assets.
‘The Gravy Train’ experience welcomes all Blues ticket holders traveling to Eden Park on match day, promising an unforgettable journey for all participants.
