BOSTON (JUNE 28, 2024) – Dunkin’ and the Joy in Childhood Foundation are excited to announce today that this year’s annual Iced Coffee Day raised a record $2.1 million for the Dunkin’ Joy in Childhood Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to bringing the simple joys of childhood to kids battling hunger or illness.
Over the past three years, Dunkin’ franchisees nationwide have committed to donate $1 to the Foundation for every iced coffee sold on Dunkin’ Iced Coffee Day, which this year coincided with the first day of summer, June 20. Customers across the country showed their support by visiting locations nationwide, making this year’s fundraiser the most successful ever, surpassing last year’s total of $1.7 million raised.
Thanks to the generosity of Dunkin’ and its franchisees, all funds raised from Iced Coffee Day are distributed to local children’s hospitals to support their unique child life programming needs. In 2024, grant applications seek a wide range of support for programming that provide joyful experiences and happy, healing spaces for patients and their families. Hospitals aim to offer specialized summer camps for kids with cancer and other illnesses, medically safe events like carnivals, bowling, basketball, handicap accessible boating, and more. In hospitals, requests include support of art, music and dance therapy, family and teen room supplies and furnishings, and sensory stations and rooms to help kids escape the hospital environment and experience moments of happiness. These programs bring comfort to patients and their families experiencing stressful and sometimes traumatic medical experiences.

To celebrate Dunkin’ Iced Coffee Day, the Foundation hosted a series of special “Painting with Joy” events in partnership with hospitals across the country. These events gave pediatric patients and their families the opportunity to paint their favorite Dunkin’ donut or express their creativity on a paint-by-number canvas. Notable personalities who partnered with the brand and made appearances at hospitals or in stores included Jess Sims, Anne Wilson, Nicki Maher, Ian Brownhill and the UConn Men’s Basketball team.

Dunkin’ customers also supported the Foundation and their love of iced coffee with a fun accessory launched on Iced Coffee Day: a limited-edition iced coffee-inspired iPhone case designed to mimic the drink, complete with floating “ice cubes.” Guests can visit ShopDunkin.com to purchase their own limited-edition case, with a portion of the proceeds donated to the Dunkin’ Joy in Childhood Foundation.
Since 2022, Dunkin’s annual Iced Coffee Day has raised $5.6 million for the Foundation. This year’s Iced Coffee Day grant recipients will be announced in the fall. For more information, visit www.bringjoy.org.
