London, Tuesday 9th June: Tug, the independent, AI-powered brand and performance marketing agency, has appointed Asher Gordon as Managing Director EMEA. Asher joins from dentsu X and brings more than fifteen years of senior experience across performance marketing and digital media, helping brands deliver against both brand and performance goals. He will report to Founder and CEO Nick Beck.

The appointment follows a period of sustained growth for Tug, including a raft of new business wins such as Mitchells & Butlers, MoneyGram, University of Lincoln and AI search for Merlin Entertainment and adds significant leadership firepower to the agency’s global network.

Asher spent four years at dentsu X, as Global Digital Partner before being promoted to Managing Partner in April 2023. Prior to dentsu, he held the position of Global Group Account Director at PHD and before that spent six years as Digital Director at MEC – now Wavemaker – where he developed extensive expertise in biddable media, paid search, and digital strategy.

Asher returns to Tug having worked as Head of Biddable Media between 2018 and 2022.

Nick Beck, CEO & Founder at Tug: “We’re delighted to welcome Asher back to Tug. He joins us at a genuinely exciting moment – the independent agency market is in a strong position, clients are placing greater scrutiny on the value delivered by holding group structures, and our specialism in AI-powered search means we are actively competing for, and winning, accounts that would previously have gone to the large networks. Asher’s experience across GEO, data, paid media, and global account leadership makes him extremely well suited to help drive our next phase of growth.”

Asher Gordon, Managing Director EMEA added: “It’s a privilege to return, and I look forward to contributing to the agency’s next phase of growth. I’m excited to apply the knowledge and expertise I’ve gained throughout my career to deliver stronger visibility and performance outcomes for brands in this evolving industry. Tug has a clear and differentiated proposition, combining independence, genuine AI capability, and a strong search heritage. This puts us in a powerful position to help brands compete in the performance marketing space.”

Tug operates across six global offices, with teams in London, New York, Toronto, Berlin, Sydney and Singapore.
