TORONTO — July 23, 2026 — The Garden, part of the Humanise Collective, has been named agency of record for Toronto Public Library Foundation following a competitive review.

The partnership will encompass a broad creative mandate supporting the Foundation’s communications and fundraising efforts.

Toronto Public Library (TPL) is one of the world’s biggest and busiest public library systems, with 81% of Torontonians using their library in the last year. Toronto Public Library Foundation inspires philanthropic support that helps the library amplify, innovate, and accelerate the important work it does across the city.

For The Garden, the appointment reflects the agency’s continued commitment to partnering with organizations making a meaningful impact in their communities.

“TPL already stands for something people care about. But not many people know they can give to the library. Our role is to inspire people to donate and to understand the impact they can have,” said Shane Ogilvie, Co-founder and Chief Creative Officer, The Garden. “For many people, the library means shelves of books. For many others, it’s also a place for social connection, intellectual freedom, and so much more. Helping people see the library as the living expression of the city we want to be—and how they can help support it—is an opportunity we’re excited to take on.”

The partnership also reflects The Garden’s strategy-first approach to solving business and communications challenges. The agency has built its reputation on combining strategic thinking with creative excellence across a diverse portfolio of brands and organizations.

“TPL is one of our city’s most essential and beloved public institutions,” said Adrienne Clarke, Vice-President, Brand, Marketing and Communications, Toronto Public Library Foundation. “We were looking for a creative partner that understood both the tremendous impact of the library and the opportunity to inspire philanthropic support at a scale that is unmatched for Canadian libraries. The Garden brings both a thoughtful, strategic approach and creative heft that matched our ambition. We’re excited for what we’ll be able to build together and the difference it will make in the lives of everyone who calls Toronto home.”

The Garden’s first work for Toronto Public Library Foundation is expected to launch in 2027.
