March 2026 – Produka Filmes announces the addition of the directing duo Murphys to its roster, made up of Manu Carvalho—who, in addition to being a director, is also a tattoo artist, actress, and illustrator—and director, photographer, screenwriter, and creator Vince Bressan.
Passionate about being on set and directing people in front of the camera, they have developed a working process they describe as “creative sampling,” blending different references, tones, and languages in the films they produce. “More than citing influences, our interest lies in bringing different universes together and creating a certain tension, so that from that friction something unique can emerge,” they explain. They add that their work is built on complementarity to create the entire atmosphere and universe of their films. Manu approaches scenes through art direction and performance, while Vince focuses more on cinematography and sound design.
Manu highlights: “I’ve always been made of layers. In the films I direct, on the stage I inhabit, in the lines I draw, in the skin I tattoo. Each language enriches the other. And that’s exactly what I bring to this partnership and to every project, to every story we are yet to tell together.” Vince adds: “What attracted us was the chance to let ideas take root. Not just to solve films or compose shots, but to allow a language to form, grow, and begin to speak for itself.”
“This is a duo that brings together creative expertise, strong craft for content, and impeccable client relationships. We are excited and happy to welcome them and to start our first project together,” says Anderson Lima, CEO of Produka.
As a director, Manu has worked at Café Royal and previously served as an assistant director at Bossa Nova and Vetor. Throughout her career, she has collaborated with major agencies such as África, Ogilvy, David, Publicis, and Galeria, as well as brands including Barilla, Itaú, Natura, Qualy, and the NGO SOS Children’s Villages.
Vince, in turn, has experience working on projects with production companies such as Bossa Nova and Café Royal (as both assistant director and director). He has primarily developed author-driven and entertainment projects, but in advertising, he has worked with agencies such as Suno, Streetwise, Mestiça, and Inobi, and with brands including Santander, Kitano, Natura, and, in Portugal, the NGO SOS Children’s Villages.
