For the first time in history, the National Football League will bring its Super Bowl celebration to the metaverse with the help of Roblox that will host a Saweetie concert during the Super Bowl weekend on February 10 at 7p.m. ET.
The virtual concert, presented by Intuit, will be running in Warner Music Group’s Rhythm City, which was created on the Roblox metaverse sites and launched on February 4th. This newly launched space offers users to play fun mini-games, as well as try new immersive role-playing experiences. The visitors of Rhythm City will be able to try on a role of an influencer, musician, agent, producer, and more.
“I’m really excited to bring this iconic moment to the metaverse and share my music with a whole new audience in such a unique way! As an artist, innovator, and football fan, to be able to perform during Super Bowl LVII weekend in this new world — Rhythm City on Roblox — is something I never imagined that I would be involved in. I am very grateful and happy about this opportunity,” Saweetie says in a statement. “I can’t wait for fans to experience what we’ve created.”
According to the NFL, the virtual concert will “celebrate the upcoming Super Bowl LVII and promote a message of female empowerment to all turning in.” Also, it has been announced that the Saweetie concert will be ‘family-friendly’ and she will perform her best hits, including Tap-In.
In addition to the virtual show, the NFL also launched Super NFL Tycoon on Roblox this past Saturday, February 4. Which allows users to live the fantasy of being an NFL team owner and practice important financial and business skills and also construct a stadium. Super NFL Tycoon also provides users with a unique opportunity to freely travel between the concert at the Rhythm city and the other NFL site via a specific portal.
