Sunshine Coast, 29 May 2026 – Sunshine Plaza has partnered with Sunshine Coast Lightning to bring the Suncorp Super Netball club’s full playing group into the centre for the remainder of the 2026 season, creating new opportunities for fans, families and visitors to connect with one of the region’s most recognised sporting teams in a retail and lifestyle setting.
The partnership will be brought to life in-centre this Sunday (31 May), with a free full-squad signing at Sunshine Plaza, giving fans a rare opportunity to meet the complete 2026 Lightning roster in person. Captain and Australian Diamonds skipper Liz Watson, vice captain Courtney Bruce and New Zealand Silver Ferns captain Karin Burger will lead the appearance alongside the full squad.
Beyond Sunday, the partnership will deliver, home-game ticket giveaways for centre visitors and original player-led content produced across Sunshine Plaza’s food, fashion and lifestyle tenants.
The partnership builds on Lightning connections at Sunshine Plaza, with centre retailers including Rockwear, HCF, and Suncorp also supporting the team, creating a unified community of Lightning partners.The announcement comes during Lightning’s milestone tenth season and as Sunshine Plaza builds on a strong run of tenant additions including LEGO, Nando’s, an expanded Mecca and Noosa Chocolates’ second concept store.
Sunshine Plaza Marketing Manager Bianca Price said the sponsorship extends the centre’s strategy of strengthening its destination credentials beyond traditional retail.
“We’ve enhanced our tenant mix significantly over the past year, and this partnership gives us another way to bring the centre experience to life,” Price said.

Lightning’s Round 12 home fixture against GIANTS Netball takes place the evening prior at UniSC Arena, Saturday 30 May at 5:00pm AEST.
The Full Squad Signing takes place at Sunshine Plaza on Sunday, 31 May and is free and open to the public.
