NOFO Hotel in Stockholm is launching a new guest service that offers an alternative to the endless stream of online recommendations. Called Key to Söder, the experience is designed to take the pressure out of decision-making by offering visitors curated access to Södermalm’s most trusted local spots, with no searching, scrolling or second-guessing required.
At its core, Key to Söder is about restoring ease and trust to the travel experience. Instead of relying on algorithms, anonymous reviews or time-consuming research, guests at NOFO Hotel can now hand over the reins. The service offers a thoughtfully selected set of places with everything from cafés and wine bars to record shops and bookshops, each chosen by people who live in and know the area. The result is a city experience rooted in local knowledge, rather than tourist traffic.
“There’s something special about Södermalm. It’s full of places that are constantly changing, with hidden gems you only find if you know where to look. We have a real connection to this neighbourhood, and it feels
natural to share that with our guests. With Key to Söder, we simply want to pass on the places we genuinely love, so visitors can experience the Söder we know and avoid the outdated or generic tips that miss the mark,” says Alexander Alkesten, CEO of NOFO Hotel.

The service is intentionally simple. Guests are offered Key to Söder as part of their stay when they book, giving them access to curated places currently valued by locals. NOFO can take care of reservations and
planning across the day, from morning coffee to dinner, or guests can use the guide to explore independently, knowing every recommendation has been vetted by someone who lives nearby.
There’s no pressure to follow a set itinerary, only the assurance that wher-ever they go, it’s a good choice.
“Sometimes it feels like you need to become some kind of expert just to find a really good place to eat. It takes time, and even then you’re not always sure. We’re happy to take that weight off our guests – not as an official guide, but because we enjoy recommending the places we truly like ourselves. These are the kinds of tips you’d get from a friend who lives nearby. Someone who knows the wine bar is best on a Tuesday or that the café on the corner serves the city’s best cardamom bun. That’s the kind of friend we want to be,” says Johanna Landberg, Brand & Community Manager at NOFO Hotel.

The launch includes an atmospheric short film following a famous Söder malm resident through their neighbourhood, capturing the unhurried rhythm that distinguishes genuine local life from the urgency of tourist itineraries.
Key to Söder will be available from 3 September as a complimentary add-on for all guests at NOFO Hotel.
