Spang teams up with Fable Advertising and The Virginia Lottery for Interactive CLUE Campaign directed by Jordan Rodericks with cinematographer Steve Yedlin at the helm of visuals.
Richmond, VA – Fable Advertising has partnered with The Virginia Lottery, tapping acclaimed director Jordan Rodericks to craft an innovative, interactive campaign for their new online lottery and scratcher game inspired by the classic board game, CLUE.
“At Fable, we’re on a mission to redefine Lottery TV through smart, effective, playful storytelling with true cinematic quality,” says David Neale, Fable Founder and Chief Creative Officer. “Our latest spot, a 30-second whodunnit that was inspired by Knives Out, was a bold statement of that vision. So when Spang told us Steve Yedlin—the renowned DP who actually shot Knives Out—was joining the team, it was the kind of twist that perfectly captured our drive to keep raising the bar.”
The creative brief? Turn audiences into detectives, immerse them in a real-life mystery, and challenge them to solve the case of the missing CLUE Scratcher—all within 30 suspense-filled seconds.

“I love to plus the boards and enrich the visuals whenever and wherever I can,” said Rodericks. “Each job has that one thing that can truly elevate a concept and I knew reaching out to Steve Yedlin and his team was the best thing for the vision.”
Yedlin brings his technical artistry and precision to the campaign, utilizing advanced lighting control, dynamic camera movement, and crisp, wide lensing to transform a practical location into a vivid, captivating crime scene.
Together, Rodericks and Yedlin craft a seamless blend of narrative depth and visual intrigue, pushing each other to elevate the campaign’s storytelling while bringing a bold, cinematic edge to the world of CLUE.
Yedlin speaks to partnering with Rodericks, “Collaborating with Jordan was a real pleasure: he knows how to focus limited time and resources into sculpting the visual story he’s after — and he does so with kindness and humor.”
