The Shiny Awards returned to London on Tuesday 28 July, bringing together a full house of directors, producers and creatives at Omnicom Production London to celebrate exceptional emerging directing talent.
Opened by Mark Graeme, Head of Studio at Omnicom Production, the evening screened a bold selection of short-form work spanning commercial, music-video, documentary, animation and narrative filmmaking.
As with every Shiny event, diversity remained central, with at least 70% of the work screened directed by filmmakers from under-represented backgrounds.
Three prize winners were selected from the shortlist, each receiving a tailored package of mentoring, craft support, career guidance and representation from Shiny’s partners.

Tom Oliver said:
“I worked with multiple people on this film who I would never have met if I hadn’t got chatting to them at a Shiny event, and that’s what makes Shiny so special. It means so much more than just a fancy laurel for your website; it’s a genuinely welcoming and supportive community of creatives, producers and agencies coming together to invest in the next generation of directors.
“When I started directing, I really struggled to understand the nuances of what can often feel like a closed-off and gatekept industry, but Shiny has played a huge role in helping me see through that fog, making the industry feel a little less scary, and hopefully clearing a path for those coming up next.”
The shortlisted work was selected with the support of a broad panel of industry figures representing more than 70 companies across production, post-production, agencies, creative studios and more.
The event was made possible with the support of Omnicom Production London, Creative Outpost, Global Production Network, Abroad Films, Wild Island Films, Searchlight Recruitment and All of Us Here.
The winning films and the full shortlist will be added to the Shiny List, connecting emerging directors with producers, agencies and creatives worldwide.
