RadicalMedia Signs Emmy Award- Winning Director Robert Alexander

New York City, NY, August 3, 2026 — RadicalMedia is proud to announce that it has added director Robert Alexander to its roster in the US and Europe. A self-taught filmmaker, he has produced and directed projects for networks like HBO, Amazon, Peacock, Apple TV+, and Netflix, as well as numerous brand campaigns, music videos, and still photography. The prolific creator is now growing his commercial footprint with RadicalMedia.

Alexander began his career as a photographer and director of music videos for up-and-coming artists, eventually working with New York’s #1 hip-hop radio station, HOT 97, where he produced concerts and directed interviews with musicians. From there, he found his way into creative leadership roles at companies like Complex and LeBron James’s Uninterrupted, where Alexander directed 9 episodes of HBO’s The Shop, a series that redefined the long-form interview format and earned him an Emmy Award in 2020.

Drawn to the people and moments that shape culture, Alexander’s work explores the intersection of ambition, identity, and creativity, revealing the humanity behind some of the most influential figures in music, sports, and entertainment. His feature documentary A Man Named Scott examined the artistic legacy of Kid Cudi through an intimate portrait of creativity and vulnerability. Alexander followed it up with the five-time Emmy-nominated docuseries Shaq for HBO—one of the network’s most-watched documentaries. Most recently, he directed “5 Minutes,” the opening film capturing the long-fabled audition process for Saturday Night Live as part of Peacock’s Beyond Saturday Night, which earned a Primetime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Documentary Series.

He was tapped to direct Bukayo Saka: The Time Is Now, an original documentary produced in collaboration with WhatsApp – an example of Alexander’s talent for marrying brand storytelling with unscripted, intimate filmmaking. The film follows Arsenal FC and England star Bukayo Saka as he prepares for this summer’s World Cup, and is currently streaming on Disney+. Expanding on his brand work, Alexander has directed spots for Nike, Hennessy, Ciroc, Kia, and Under Armour, among many others.

Alexander says on signing with RadicalMedia, “Radical’s commercial work was a huge influence on me being a filmmaker as a kid, and they continue to inspire me today with the depth, quality, and artistry consistent in everything they create. I couldn’t be more excited about the opportunity to bring what I do and what they do together to make work that is beautiful, emotional, unforgettable.”

Frank Scherma, President of RadicalMedia, adds, “Rob finds these human moments in his work that make you pause, and he sits there with you. He has the power to make audiences lean in and listen, which is rare. That’s exactly the kind of storytelling RadicalMedia was built around. We’re happy to welcome him to the roster and can’t wait to see what he creates next.”
