LONDON, NOVEMBER 2024: Quiet Storm, the independent, employee-owned creative agency and production company, has hired comedy writer and performer Will Hislop as a creative, with a brief to boost its creative output – especially drawing on his talent for humour. He joins this month, reporting to Seb Jamous, creative director, and Trevor Robinson OBE, founder.
Will has a dual career in advertising and as a comedian. His face will be familiar to many social media users thanks to his pandemic-era video ‘Your aunt at the NHS clap’, which has had over 7 million views.
Most recently, he has been part of the Lucky Generals creative team, working on campaigns for the Gym Group, the Labour Party and Ring Doorbell. He was also behind the viral hit ‘Pack yer bags’ for Yorkshire Tea, which won Gold at the 2024 Creative Circle Awards and at the British Arrows, in the Food & Drink category.
As a writer, Will’s credits span TV, stage and radio, including The Now Show, Newsjack and Radio Fjord for Radio 4 and TV development work with production companies including Fulwell 73 and Babycow. As an actor, he has appeared in Netflix’s One Day, Baby Reindeer and BBC’s PRU, among other productions.
Trevor Robinson OBE, founder of Quiet Storm, said: “Having admired his viral work during lockdown, it was no surprise to discover that Will’s ad portfolio is absolutely terrific. His blend of comedy and creativity, along with his sharp eye for recognising cultural trends, will be a huge asset to the Quiet Storm team and our clients.”
Will Hislop said: “I’ve been an admirer of Quiet Storm for a long time and their ads that combine getting results with being genuinely funny. I’m massively excited to work with Trevor and the team at the Quiet Storm office, fuelled by unlimited Haribo and Vimto.”
