London, October 11 2023: Post-production house POD LDN has dialled up the vintage horror in a new Halloween campaign for PepsiCo-owned Walkers Crisps.

Riffing on the classic Halloween transformation story of werewolves, vampires, zombies and Frankenstein, we see the protagonists in different scenes filled with fear as they watch packets of Wotsits and Monster Munch transform into GIANTS.

The campaign breaks across online, social and cinema on October 11, with Video On Demand to follow.

POD LDN repurposed existing content from previous campaigns to create a super-stylised, tongue-in-cheek video that is playfully kitsch and pays homage to the iconic horror genre. It used compositing, 2D and 3D animation to place the GIANTS in the film. POD LDN worked with PepsiCo in-house agency Sips & Bites, Absolute Post for colour grading and MSE for video editing.

The Halloween campaign follows POD’s creation of an earlier campaign for Walkers 100 Calories that broke in August. That work, which spotlights that low calorie does not mean compromising on flavour, is running across 59 digital TV channels, on-demand services, social media, including YouTube, and digital out-of-home until the end of October.

By reusing existing content in these campaigns, POD LDN is supporting PepsiCo to meet its sustainability targets and carbon footprints by reducing the number of advertising shoots needed to support its product range.

Sam Myers, Senior Producer at PepsiCo, said: “Working with POD again on these projects was, as always, a smooth and pain-free process. They always go over and above to deliver to very tight timings and exacting standards. The team are always on hand to come up with creative solutions to feedback.”
