May 5, 2026. Today, clean skincare brand Olive+M launches No More Snake Oil, a campaign and consumer challenge calling out the beauty industry’s reliance on synthetic ingredients, invented science, and overstated claims, including the long running tendency to invent problems that never needed fixing. The campaign is anchored by the Snake Oil Swap, a fourteen day public challenge that invites ten women to swap their current skincare products for Olive+M and document the experience.

The campaign argues that for decades, beauty consumers have been sold beautiful promises in beautiful bottles, while olive oil, one of the most enduring skincare ingredients on record, has been quietly outperforming most of what is being marketed as innovation. Olive oil is supported by over 2000 years of cosmetic and dermatological evidence, and remains one of the longest used skincare ingredients in human history.

“Most bathroom cabinets contain forty ingredients doing some version of nothing. Most of what is sold to women as innovation is an old idea in a new bottle. Somebody had to put the real thing back in the spotlight.” That is the opening line of the campaign manifesto, which runs across email, Instagram, TikTok, and the brand’s website.

The Snake Oil Swap

At the heart of the campaign is a public proposition. Olive+M is giving away ten kits, each worth $150, to ten women willing to put their current skincare products away for fourteen days and try Olive+M instead. Each kit contains the full Olive+M line: Body Oil, Face Oil, Cleansing Oil, and Balm. In return, swappers commit to sharing three short videos and a small handful of photos across the fortnight. The brand will document the swappers’ journeys publicly, with all imagery unfiltered and unretouched.

“We have nothing to hide and nothing to dress up. The product works. We are putting that on camera, on the skin of women who have nothing to gain by overstating it,” said Wendy Rosenthal, Chief Nourishment Officer.

Applications open at launch and run through Mother’s Day weekend. Swappers will be selected and announced after Sunday May 10. The campaign window for applications runs April 29 to May 10, 2026.

The brand

Olive+M is built on a single hero ingredient: single origin, cold pressed olive oil, properly sourced and left to do what it does, which is nourish skin and feed it what it actually needs, without a greasy finish or heavy scent. The line is formulated around the principle that a skincare ingredient with this much history behind it should not be playing a supporting role to synthetics, and that beauty does not need to be reinvented to be improved.
