No Classroom? No Problem! Rangeet Brings Playful Summer Learning Spaces to Mumbai
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Mumbai, 04th May 2026: Every child deserves a summer filled with discovery and joy, but for many families, summer camps that fulfil both are just not within reach. Mumbai-based social enterprise Rangeet, in partnership with Pratham Mumbai Education Initiative and the OmniActive Improving Lives Foundation, with support from Nirlon Ltd. is bringing meaningful, playful learning to communities in Jogeshwari East. Through its Social Emotional & Ecological Knowledge (SEEK)© curriculum, Rangeet partners with governments, schools and organisations to build critical human skills essential to thrive among children, both in India and globally. Its work has  already been introduced across government-aided private schools and Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC)’s classrooms, with plans to reach over 250 schools and nearly 100,000 students in 2026. Starting from April 25th, the 15-day Rangeet Summer Camp is engaging children aged 6–16 across three communities. Designed as a one-hour daily engagement, the programme is built on SEEK™’s Ecology Umbrella, using its playful approach of stories, games, art and craft to nurture knowledge, voice and agency.

At the camp, children are learning about trees, mangroves and biodiversity, themes that are increasingly critical in a coastal city, vulnerable to flooding, like Mumbai. They’re exploring the living world around them, from the trees they climb, to the mangroves that protect their city, all while laughing, questioning, and creating together.

“Summer learning ought to be accessible to all children. There should be spaces where every child can explore, question and connect with the world around them,” said Simran Mulchandani, Co-Founder and CEO, Rangeet. “Through SEEK, we have created learning experiences that are deeply rooted in the living world around us, whether it’s understanding the role of trees in our cities or building empathy, awareness and voice.”

The camp will culminate in a community showcase, where children present their learnings to their families and communities through performances and creative projects, reinforcing both confidence and community engagement.

The SEEK curriculum has already taken root in schools across Mumbai. Rangeet’s dream is simple: to reach more neighbourhoods, more children, and more curious young minds, whether they learn in a classroom, on a playground, or the alleys outside their homes. Because every child in Mumbai deserves the chance to learn with joy and understand their world better.
