If you’ve ever wondered what true brand love looks like, Mutti has the answer; it comes perfectly manicured.

Mutti and independent brandformance agency WiredCo. have unveiled the latest chapter of their ongoing fan-driven ‘Confessions of a Muttiholic’ platform, celebrating one of the brand’s most devoted fans by turning their real-life obsession into an eye-catching out-of-home campaign.

Inspired by a confession from a Mutti lover who dreamed of having Mutti-inspired nail art painted onto their fingertips, the campaign transforms an everyday cultural trend into a striking creative idea. Towering across premium OOH sites, the campaign features intricately detailed Mutti nail art wrapped around the brand’s iconic tomato cans, paired with the simple headline: “MUTTIHOLIC.”

“The response to ‘Confessions of a Muttiholic’ has shown us that people don’t just buy Mutti, they genuinely love it. When we heard about someone creating Mutti nail art, we knew it perfectly captured the spirit of the platform. It’s playful, unexpected and a wonderful reminder that our biggest fans proudly wear their love for the brand in ways we could never have imagined. So, we had to honour that with the right medium, and nothing beats high impact OOH to make a big statement,” says Samantha Filocamo, Marketing Director at Mutti ANZ.

To bring the confession to life authentically on social, WiredCo. partnered with a notable nail artist to painstakingly recreate the miniature works of art by hand. Every fingertip features bespoke Mutti-inspired designs, from the brand’s signature tomato cans through to detailed illustrations celebrating Italy, tomatoes and the cult following the brand has built. The creation process has also been captured for social content, allowing fans to see the craftsmanship behind the campaign.

“Nail art has become the latest canvas for cultural obsession. From dirty martinis to glazed donuts and gummy bears, people’s biggest and tastiest passions are ending up on their fingertips. So, we gave that cultural phenomenon a Mutti makeover, turning tomato nails into a badge of devotion to Mutti. The craftsmanship was incredible, and we loved taking a genuine fan confession and quite literally nailing it,” says Joe Stuart, Creative Director at WiredCo.

The latest execution continues the momentum of the ‘Confessions of a Muttiholic’, a platform built around the idea that Australia’s love affair with Mutti borders on obsession. Rather than advertising tomatoes in traditional category fashion, the campaign celebrates the passionate, often unexpected ways people express their affection for the premium Italian brand.

“The media strategy was designed to turn a visually distinctive idea into maximum impact. We prioritised large-format sites and sequential placements across major commuter stations, giving the work the scale and repetition needed to build recognition across the journey. Importantly, underpinned by a high reaching, targeted digital strategy, intercepting people on their way home from work and when they’re looking for dinner inspiration, connecting Mutti’s cultural distinctiveness with a highly relevant purchase occasion.” said Ollie Carthy, Head of Paid Media and Strategy at WiredCo.

Over the past year, the platform – which has helped Mutti become Australia’s fastest-growing preserved tomato brand – has transformed real customer confessions into creative work spanning earned media, social, content and advertising, including the Muttihollic Saucy Stories campaign fronted by Matildas captain Sam Kerr. The latest OOH chapter pushes that thinking further, finding creativity not in product demonstrations, but in culture itself.

“We didn’t want this to feel like a prop. We wanted to create nail art that people would genuinely want to wear. Every tiny detail was handcrafted with the same level of care Mutti puts into its tomatoes, making the work feel less like advertising and more like a piece of culture.” said Samantha Nunura, General Manager at WiredCo.
