Barbour has released the latest episode of its Barbour Way of Life series, featuring horticulturist and broadcaster Monty Don.
Created by agency GAIN, the social-first documentary series celebrates people across Britain who live and embody a slower and more thoughtful way of life, valuing community, craftsmanship, and the outdoors. In short, the values that Barbour has always stood for.
Monty Don has spent his life proving that gardens matter, that nature heals and that slowing down isn’t a luxury. In the five-minute episode of Barbour Way of Life, titled “Nurtured by Nature”, he shares how nature’s lessons translate into valuable life lessons.
After spending a lifetime in conversation with the natural world, Monty’s relationship with nature is built on a genuine willingness to listen, pay attention and let nature do the teaching.
Through decades of dedication to the soil and the seasons, the natural world has shaped both his craft and the way in which he moves through life. The film spotlights that relationship, and focuses on the patience, passion, and devotion of a man who sees nature as his greatest teacher.
Monty shows us how the appreciation we bring to the natural world can find its way back to us, and that patience can allow both gardens and our lives to flourish.
GAIN and Barbour have been collaborating on Barbour Way of Life since 2023, and the series features people with a genuine relationship with the outdoors and the craft that comes with it, including farmers, foragers, market traders, and beekeepers.
Each short film tells an unscripted story of a person whose passion, work, and lifestyle embodies this spirit. The episodes run across Meta, as well as Barbour’s website and YouTube channel.
Sophie Bolland, Senior Global Digital Marketing Manager said, “At Barbour, It’s a Way of Life is a natural extension of who we are as a brand, rooted in an enduring connection to the outdoors, craftsmanship and community. Working collaboratively with GAIN, this digital series allows us to authentically tell the stories of individuals like Monty Don, whose values so closely align with our own. It’s about celebrating a slower, more thoughtful way of living that has always been at the heart of Barbour.”
Neil Dennis, CEO Creative Studios & Experience at GAIN, added: “We’re really proud to have been working with Barbour for more than 10 years now and their latest content series, Barbour Way of Life, is really setting the bar for how brands create organic content. Twenty-two episodes in, and the latest film with Monty Don is just lovely.”
GAIN is responsible for creating the narrative development, pre-production, the shoot, and all post-production work.
