The transformation of hybrid work and the rise of digital nomadism have fueled the growth of a market that, until just a few years ago, seemed to be reserved for technology specialists: portable displays and accessories designed to expand workspaces. Within this segment, U.S.-based company Mobile Pixels has managed to build an ecosystem of products focused on productivity and mobility.
Founded in 2018 as a university project led by students from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Northeastern University, the company started with a simple idea: developing external monitors that could be attached to laptops to make working from anywhere easier. Over time, its catalog expanded to include desktop monitors, keyboards, computer mice, smart cameras, and a variety of technology accessories.
Today, the brand markets several product lines. Among its most popular offerings are the Duex portable monitors, designed to function as secondary displays for laptops. Models such as the Duex Max DS, Duex Plus DS, and Duex Float 2 Pro are aimed at professionals, students, and content creators seeking additional screen space without sacrificing portability.
The company has also invested in the Trio 3 Pro line, a system that allows users to integrate three screens into a single workstation, as well as the Glance and Fold series, which were developed to provide lighter and more versatile configurations.
Within the desktop segment, Geminos stands out as a dual 24-inch vertical monitor system designed to optimize workspace organization and improve ergonomics. The company also sells curved 34-inch and 45-inch monitors, along with Mini LED displays intended for professionals and gamers.

Another of the company’s most distinctive products is Pixcase, a device that integrates a portable monitor into a carrying case designed for laptops and other electronic devices. Mobile Pixels has further diversified its portfolio with products such as the Tetra keyboard, wireless mice, smart cameras, USB hubs, adapters, monitor stands, and privacy screen protectors.
According to the company, its story began with an everyday challenge: the need for an additional monitor that could easily be carried from one place to another. The company’s first product, known as Duo, served as the foundation for the development of the Duex Plus, which eventually became the brand’s flagship device.
The evolution of Mobile Pixels also reflects a broader trend within the technology industry. As remote work became more widespread and professional environments grew increasingly flexible, demand increased for equipment capable of recreating the traditional office experience in virtually any setting. Rather than competing directly with computer manufacturers, the company chose to specialize in accessories designed to complement consumers’ existing technology ecosystems.
The company’s business strategy is built around concepts such as mobility, flexibility, and personalization. This narrative has enabled the brand to position itself among freelancers, developers, designers, and content creators seeking to expand their productivity without relying on a fixed office environment.
