After a year-long process, MIK Studios is thrilled to announce the resounding success of its latest client project with Nickelodeon. The innovative voting platform for the 2024 Kids’ Choice Awards has achieved unprecedented global engagement.
MIK Studios set new global records by utilizing its cutting-edge MIK Engage platform for the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards. This year’s event saw one of the largest real-time voting experiences in the world, amassing over a hundred million votes across 34 regions. The platform delivered impressive results, with a global voting increase of +143% year-over-year (YoY) and an international voting surge of +251% YoY.
Luke Larsen, lead developer at MIK Studios, explains the technology behind this success: “The technology behind MIK Engage was meticulously designed to handle massive volumes of data while delivering real-time results. By integrating advanced algorithms and leveraging cloud infrastructure, we ensured that the platform could seamlessly handle the surge in traffic and provide a flawless experience for both users and broadcasters.”
MIK Engage is capable of processing up to 5.7 billion votes per day. For the Kids’ Choice Awards, it delivered live results directly to the show broadcast. The platform facilitated two live voting events, nearly doubling the votes from 2023, across 25 localized language sites.
Adam Callen, founder of MIK Studios, expressed his pride in the platform’s global impact: “We are incredibly proud of what MIK Engage has achieved. Our platform has transformed how audiences interact with live events, providing real-time, reliable, and scalable voting solutions. Seeing it successfully manage millions of votes across 34 countries is a testament to the talent we have in Australia, and particularly in Adelaide. It shows that we can compete on the world stage.”
Founded as a visual production house for the international music industry in 2000, MIK Studios has evolved into a full-service global creative powerhouse, working across music, advertising, and video.
