Matua Wines, part of the Treasury Wine Estates portfolio, has named The Corner London as its global creative agency. The appointment comes as The Corner continues to expand its partnership with Treasury Wine Estates, having already secured the global creative account for Squealing Pig in August 2023 after a competitive pitch.
The Corner’s remit for Matua Wines will span all media channels, with work commencing immediately. The agency’s first project is a shopper campaign set to launch in the U.S. later this year.
Neil Simpson, Founder and CEO of The Corner, expressed his excitement:
“It’s always pleasing when a client recognises your work by awarding you another brand. Our fridge is crammed with some lovely wines.”
Katie Lindsay, Brand Director at Treasury Wine Estates, added:
“We have been very impressed with The Corner’s creativity and passion, and we’re excited to see what they will bring to Matua.”
A Legacy of Winemaking
Treasury Wine Estates, headquartered in Melbourne, Australia, is a leading global winemaking and distribution business. Matua Wines, one of its key brands, hails from New Zealand and was founded in the 1960s by brothers Bill and Ross Spence.
The Spence brothers, descended from a family of winemakers, pioneered the production of Sauvignon Blanc in New Zealand. Their first batch of 400 bottles established Matua as the country’s first producer of this now-iconic wine variety.
Today, Matua offers a diverse portfolio, including Sauvignon Blanc, Rosé, and Pinot Noir, embodying the innovative spirit of its founders while honoring its roots. The brand takes its name from the brothers’ first vineyard plot, symbolizing a rich legacy of winemaking excellence.
