Wavemaker has secured a significant three-year contract with L’Oréal International Distribution (LID), solidifying their partnership as the strategic media agency for the EMEA region. The agreement, set to begin in September 2024, marks an expansion of the existing L’Oréal-Wavemaker collaboration, which already spans over 30 markets worldwide.
This decision follows an intense six-month competitive review, facilitated by the independent consultancy Ebiquity, aimed at consolidating LID’s media activities under a single, trusted partner. Wavemaker emerged victorious over OMD in the final round, earning the opportunity to further strengthen L’Oréal’s media presence across key territories, including their operations on Amazon.
Wavemaker’s responsibilities include comprehensive media buying and planning services, managed from a central hub. Digital strategies will be handled centrally, while offline activities will be managed locally within each market. Additionally, Wavemaker will support LID in crafting a robust strategic vision through impactful thought leadership content.
Toby Jenner, Global CEO of Wavemaker and Global President of GroupM Clients, expressed his pride in the partnership: “Securing L’Oréal, the world’s third-largest advertiser, is a testament to our team’s ability to seamlessly integrate with their operations. We are excited to collaborate with the LID team to drive further global growth.”
Julie Hoareau, Global Chief Digital and Marketing Officer at L’Oréal International Distribution, echoed this enthusiasm: “We are thrilled to partner with Wavemaker’s global team to support LID’s rapid growth. We sought a partner who could simplify and centralize our operations while demonstrating agility, expertise, and strong team collaboration. Wavemaker stood out not only for their innovative proposals and responsiveness but also for the chemistry we felt with their team.”
This partnership is set to play a pivotal role in accelerating L’Oréal’s growth and solidifying their market presence across the EMEA region.
