NEW YORK, NY — May 4th, 2026: Global brand and digital agency Koto has appointed Laura Carrick as Growth Director for its New York studio, marking a significant step in the agency’s continued U.S. expansion and investment in strategic growth.

Founded in 2015, Koto has shaped brands for some of the world’s most impactful companies, including Airbnb, Amazon, Discord, Fiverr, Netflix, Sonos, Uber Eats, Venmo and WhatsApp.

In this newly created role, Carrick will lead new business and partnership development for the New York studio, with a remit spanning growth of key accounts, deepening client relationships, and raising Koto’s profile across the U.S. market. She will also focus on expanding the agency into new categories, while supporting the continued evolution of its digital capabilities.

The appointment comes as Koto continues a period of sustained growth globally, with increasing demand from brands across technology, fintech, SaaS and AI. As these companies scale, brand is no longer a discrete output but instead a system that needs to extend across product, digital and experience. Having grown organically to date, Koto is now investing in a more structured approach to growth, bringing in dedicated leadership to deepen partnerships and scale its presence across the U.S.

“I’m incredibly excited to be joining Koto at such a pivotal moment in its growth. I’ve been a Koto fangirl for quite some time,” comments Carrick. “There’s a real entrepreneurial spirit that runs through the global studios, which is something that strongly resonates with me. I’m looking forward to diversifying our client roster, deepening relationships with our incredibly ambitious partners, and being part of a team that is truly people-first. You can feel that sense of humanity in the work—there’s a real sense of soul and intention behind everything the team creates.”

Koto’s New York studio, launched four years ago, has doubled in size over the past two years and now forms a key part of the agency’s international footprint. Globally, Koto employs 160 people across studios in Berlin, London, Los Angeles, New York and Sydney.

Carrick joins as part of a broader push to formalize and scale Koto’s growth function, working under Chief Growth Officer Melissa Howdle based out of the agency’s London office.

The global growth team currently spans seven people and is continuing to expand as the agency invests in a more strategic and connected approach to business development.

Carrick brings a diverse background spanning brand, creative and education. She previously held roles at Jones Knowles Ritchie, Blurr Bureau and Shillington Education, and relocated to New York from Australia in 2021.
