KFC Thailand is going all out with its bold new “Cheese Overload Phenomenon,” unleashing a massive 91 tons of cheese into the heart of the city. Giant KFC cheese containers cruising along the Chao Phraya River sparked instant buzz as it turning heads, flooding social feeds, and leaving everyone asking: what is KFC about to serve that’s this extra?

Behind the hype is a seriously loaded setup with 91 tons of cheese, equivalent to over 48,000 buckets, all leading up to the launch of the new “Cheesy Lava.” This next-level take on KFC’s signature Hot & Spicy chicken delivers crunch on the outside and juicy tenderness inside, amped up with a heavy coating of spicy cheese powder packed into every crispy corner. It’s then drenched, with no holding back, in rich molten cheddar lava that flows over the entire piece.
The result is a full-on flavor experience that’s crispy, aromatic, rich, and unapologetically cheesy in every bite. It is so indulgent that you can feel the crave just by looking.

Patra Patrasuwan, Associate Marketing Director KFC Thailand, said, “We wanted to create a moment that people feel part of and want to share in their own way. Great taste alone isn’t enough; consumers need to feel something first. We know that when something looks this indulgent and this extra, people can’t help but stop, watch, and share. So we scaled that insight into a real, citywide experience that builds curiosity and invites everyone to discover just how far we can take cheese with our Cheesy Lava.”

As part of the launch, KFC Thailand released an online film that brings the cheese overload to life through surreal, cinematic storytelling. Helicopters carry giant KFC containers across the sky before they burst open, unleashing
a dramatic downpour of powdered and molten cheese. The scene then transitions into indulgent close-ups of
Hot & Spicy chicken being coated and drenched, ending with a satisfying bite that visually reinforcing the product’s bold, over-the-top cheesiness.
