Munich, 11 February 2025 — Mediaplus Group, Europe’s largest independent media agency, continues its international growth with the appointment of John Wittesaele as COO International Markets. In this newly created role, he will oversee the expansion and optimization of Mediaplus’ global operations, ensuring seamless digital transformation, AI integration, and media standardization across all markets.

Driving Global Growth and Innovation

With 2,000 employees across 25 countries, Mediaplus has experienced significant growth in recent years. Wittesaele’s role will focus on developing international offices, strengthening resources, and enhancing AI-driven solutions to meet the evolving demands of modern media. Reporting directly to Matthias Brüll, CEO of Mediaplus Group, he will work closely with leadership teams to standardize media and technology platforms, ensuring consistency and efficiency across all global agencies.

“Mediaplus has grown significantly, and now we must optimize and fine-tune our global operations,” says Matthias Brüll. “The media industry is increasingly complex, requiring the perfect balance of technology and human expertise. With John, we have found the perfect person for the job – someone with international experience, deep expertise in data and digitalization, and a strong capacity for innovation.”

Industry Expertise and Leadership

Wittesaele brings over 20 years of experience in digital media, AI, and data analytics. He spent 12 years at GroupM, holding key leadership roles, including Global CEO of Xaxis, GroupM’s programmatic media platform. He also played a leading role at GroupM Connect and Quisma, where he led international performance marketing and digital transformation initiatives.

For Wittesaele, Mediaplus’ House of Communication model and entrepreneurial spirit were decisive factors in joining the agency. “From the moment I stepped into the House of Communication, I felt a unique spirit of innovation and collaboration,” he says. “Mediaplus is inherently customer-centric, working closely with brands to shape the future of media. This, combined with an exceptional team, made it an easy decision to take on this exciting role.”
