New York (March 13, 2024)—Iris Worldwide, the global creative network, today announced the appointment of Verena Golway as Senior Vice President of its Health Brand in the Americas. She will be responsible for forging strong strategic and creative relationships with new and existing clients in the healthcare sector, while also securing new business opportunities.
As an integral part of her role, Golway will focus on expanding Iris’s offering in health across the Americas, working closely with leadership teams across Iris’ offices in Atlanta, New York, San Francisco, Boston, Toronto and Sao Paulo. She will support local managing directors in tailoring and executing global health strategies.
Golway brings over 15 years of strategic marketing experience in both the B2B and B2C sectors to her new role at Iris, having previously served as Head of Client Services for the agency’s operations in Germany. Before joining Iris, she held the position of Director of Product Marketing at Inovalon, where she played a pivotal part in running the company´s B2B and B2C marketing programs, and supporting the establishment of partnerships and the company´s IPO.
With experience on both the agency and brand side, Golway has supported organizations in setting strategic vision, leading product launches, and driving brand and product positioning. Throughout her career, she has accumulated extensive background across various sectors including medical technology, life sciences, and diagnostics, and has worked with numerous healthcare brands such as Roche, Insulet, Siemens, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Delta Dental and more.
The appointment follows a trio of hires in the UK last month designed to bolster Iris’s global healthcare offering, which included ex-McCann Health Creative Director, Avril Furness, Resonant’s Marie Little as Managing Director and VCCP Health’s Harriet Masters as Project Director. Cath Brassington-Richards also joined last June from Havas Lynx Group to take on the role of Global Chief Health Officer and bring Iris’s participation marketing approach to the health sector.
“Over the past year Iris’s health offering globally has gone from strength to strength and with Verena moving into this pivotal position we have the ability to bring the amazing work we’re already doing in the US to more clients.’ said Cath Brassington-Richards, Global Chief Health Officer for Iris. “Her years of expertise in the healthcare sector made her the perfect candidate for this senior leadership role. We have no doubt that she will make significant contributions to our agency and our health clients.”
“I’m excited for this new chapter at Iris, not only to utilize my skills and experience to build out our health brand, but also to make a difference to healthcare organizations across the Americas and to reach and engage their customers in a meaningful way.” said Golway.
“This appointment underscores Iris’ increasing emphasis on its health services” said Jill Smith Global CMO at Iris. “In 2023, the agency took home six wins from the Titan Healthcare Awards, in addition to multiple new client wins in the sector that included Wellstar and Alcon”.
