Barcelona, Spain — 2025 – International animation powerhouse Le Cube has announced an exciting collaboration with award-winning design firm Hey Studio, marking a rare exchange of services within the industry. Le Cube has created a dynamic motion graphics reel for Hey, showcasing their diverse projects that range from product design to branding and animation. In return, Hey has undertaken the rebranding of Le Cube, enhancing its visual identity. Notably, this collaboration was a barter of services, with both sides leveraging each other’s strengths—a feat that is increasingly rare in today’s industry landscape.
Conceptually, Hey Studio approached the design of Le Cube’s visual identity by drawing inspiration from the layered structure of animation projects, akin to the setup in most animation software. This idea also reflects the various phases involved in the creative process. The design incorporates horizontal lines that evoke a retro feel while firmly anchoring the brand in a modern aesthetic. This approach not only highlights the essence of animation but also reinforces the collaborative spirit of the partnership.
On Le Cube’s side, the focus was on maintaining consistency across the various media that Hey has worked on, which includes modular sunglasses, craft beer cans, coffee packaging and 2D graphic systems. The challenge was to ensure that all these elements flowed seamlessly together. Fortunately, Hey’s strong visual thumbprint across all their projects ensured that the final output never felt like a collage. Instead, all campaigns and projects are united by Hey’s robust design DNA, creating a cohesive visual experience.
