Inside SNICKERS Ice Cream’s latest “Can’t Chill” ad: dating, seagulls, and chaos
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

SNICKERS Ice Cream is extending its Can’t Chill campaign with Seagull, a new spot that taps into a familiar tension: even in the most relaxing moments, your mind won’t always slow down.

Developed by BBDO, the campaign rolls out in a :15 format, pairing the brand’s signature humor with an offbeat, slightly surreal twist.

The creative unfolds on a tranquil beach, where two friends lounge as waves crash in the background – until one starts obsessively overthinking a recent date. That inner monologue takes form as a persistent “seagull” (revealed to be a woman on a buoy) repeatedly calling out, “YOU REMIND ME OF MY BROTHER.”

As the moment unravels, his friend cuts through the noise: “You still thinking about that date?” The solution is simple – “take this.” One bite of SNICKERS Ice Cream snaps him out of the cycle of overthinking, restoring calm and reinforcing the brand’s core tagline: Can’t Chill? Maybe You Just Need a SNICKERS Ice Cream.

The spot builds on Can’t Chill by tapping into the reality of an always-on world – where overstimulation is the norm and even the most laid-back moments are interrupted by overthinking. Designed for Gen Zennials who are always caught in a cycle of stresslaxing, it positions SNICKERS Ice Cream as a playful, satisfying reset that helps you actually chill.

Seagull will run across CTV (Hulu, Amazon, NBCU and GM) beginning May 4, and on OLV (DV360 and YouTube) beginning May 11.
