HSBC Premier ‘A Life in Moments’ Light Show Illuminates Burj Khalifa in Dubai: HSBC UAE collaborate with VML Dubai and Hanzo Films

To mark the arrival of an enhanced HSBC Premier, HSBC UAE collaborated with VML Dubai and Hanzo to conceive and lead the creation of A Life in Moments – a spectacular light show that illuminated the Burj Khalifa in HSBC’s signature red, transforming the world’s tallest building into a living canvas of life’s defining milestones.

Under VML’s creative direction, and brought to life in partnership with Hanzo Films, the activation united more than one million LEDs, advanced motion graphics, and emotive storytelling to express HSBC Premier’s message: “Everything’s premier when life is truly lived.”

The narrative follows a woman’s journey through formative chapters of her life—from personal achievements and family milestones to global adventures and future ambitions — illustrating how HSBC Premier supports clients at every stage. The result is an immersive visual symphony blending art, technology, and emotion at monumental scale.

“We didn’t just project on a building; we turned the world’s most epic canvas into an intimate human story.” says Alaa Demachkie, Creative Director at VML. “Our idea, ‘The Ascent’, projected the beautiful, animated journey of a woman rising through the key chapters of her life. By placing this personal narrative on such a massive scale, we created a breathtaking message: that the grandest lives are built on personal moments. It was the perfect, unmissable expression of a ‘life truly lived’.” 

Vedika Rana, Producer, Hanzo Films adds: “We never set out to create a spectacle — we set out to create a feeling. By taking one human journey and lifting it onto a global stage, we wanted people to recognize a piece of themselves in it. A Life in Moments is a reminder that every bold step, every risk, every border crossed becomes part of the story that shapes us. It celebrates the quiet moments that grow into defining ones — proof that even the most ordinary life can become extraordinary in motion.”

Based in Dubai, India, and Singapore, Hanzo Films played a key production role, applying their technical artistry and cinematic expertise to realise VML’s creative concept on the world’s largest LED canvas.

The HSBC Premier activation not only showcases innovation and scale, but also reflects the brand’s holistic offering—supporting clients in living life to the fullest across Wealth, Health, Travel and International Banking.
