A chance moment at an Anzac day breakfast has inspired a new television campaign for Caloundra RSL, with production company Tide Film Productions turning a simple community observation into an emotionally driven brand story.
Produced and directed by Tide Productions Creative Producer, Lauren Panrucker, ‘Come for the Chips’ TVC moves beyond the traditional hospitality message to remind Australians that RSLs are about far more than a meal. Inspired by the atmosphere at Caloundra RSL’s 2026 Anzac Day Breakfast, the campaign explores how local RSLs continue to bring generations together to share stories, memories, and history.

Panrucker, who was photographing the event, said the creative concept came from watching families gather after the Dawn Service and reflecting on her own childhood visits to her local RSL with her grandparents.
“I wanted to make something that spoke about the true nature of the RSL. So often we see them as just a spot for a good pub lunch, but it’s so much more. It’s an opportunity for conversation and sharing history,” Ms Panrucker said.
Adding another personal layer to the production, the archival photographs featured throughout the commercial are from Ms Panrucker’s own family collection, helping shape the film’s nostalgic tone.
“It was really special to direct this piece and also include a little of my family history in here. The photographs used are of my family and their memories sing through the scenes for me,” said Ms Panrucker.
The campaign highlights how authentic storytelling and lived experience can shape creative work, with Tide Film Productions developing and producing the concept from a genuine community moment.
