Several items have gone missing from BWH Hotels in Scandinavia, including decorative pieces like porcelain rabbits and record players. Now the hotel chain together with NORD DDB launches a campaign seeking the return of these objects, offering a hotel stay as a reward for tips leading to their recovery.
BWH Hotels, comprising 171 individually owned properties often run by local entrepreneurs, boasts unique interiors featuring items such as suits of armor and diving helmets. Unlike other chains where toiletries or towels are common targets, BWH Hotels has experienced the loss of more exclusive décor pieces.
–We love how unique each of our hotels is, from Stora Hotellet in Umeå to Ole Bull in Bergen. Guests seem to agree—perhaps a bit too much—given the number of items that have gone missing over the years. Now, we want our treasures back to restore the special atmosphere at our hotels and could use some help. For those willing to be heroes, we’re offering open arms and a hotel voucher, no questions asked! says Johan Michelson, CEO of BWH Hotels.
One missing item is Kent, a mannequin in a sailor suit that once stood in the reception area of Hotel Norra Vättern in mid Sweden. A beloved icon, Kent’s absence has been deeply felt by guests.
–We really miss Kent here in reception, and guests often ask about him. Dressed in his sailor suit, he welcomed everyone in his silent yet friendly way, making him an integral part of our reception. Both children and adults loved him, and we hope he can come home soon, says Jörgen Jacobsson, owner of Hotel Norra Vättern.
Help bring the items home
Anyone who might know the whereabouts of the missing items can now submit tips. The hotels are not concerned with how or why the objects were taken—they’re simply happy to have them back, perhaps along with some amusing stories. Tips can be submitted anonymously through the website, where a list of all missing items is available.
The hotel is seeking 18 different products, including items such as a lifesize mannequin, a horse statue, Indian decorative elephants, a knight’s armor, and a flagpole finial. You can view the full list of products here.
The campaign is rolled out through social media, OOH, and TVC across the Nordics.
