São Paulo, March 10, 2026 – HBO Max has just released the trailer and official poster for NAKED ONLINE: THE TRUTH ABOUT ROSE LEONEL, a new documentary series that revisits one of the first cases in Brazil involving the non-consensual distribution of intimate images. The production premieres on March 10 on HBO and on the streaming platform.
Across five episodes, the series follows Rose’s journey, told for the first time from her own perspective—from the crime to the present day—showing how her fight for justice led to changes in Brazilian legislation. The case was instrumental in the amendment of the Maria da Penha Law (Law No. 13,772), which came to recognize and criminalize violations of privacy, becoming widely known as the Rose Leonel Law.
In the documentary, Rose details the devastating impact of the exposure: in addition to the leaked photos, her former partner manipulated and created images to intensify the harassment. In total, more than 400 photos were distributed. In a small town, she faced public judgment and lost her job, friendships, and even family relationships.
Without institutional support at the time, Rose transformed her pain into activism. After nearly a decade of legal battles and the change in the law, she also founded the NGO Marias da Internet, which offers support and guidance to victims of digital crimes. Now, 20 years after the events, she presents her full account of the story and revisits this defining chapter of her life.
On HBO, the series will premiere with one episode per week, while on HBO Max the first three episodes will debut on March 10, followed by two additional episodes on March 17.
NAKED ONLINE: THE TRUTH ABOUT ROSE LEONEL is a co-production between Warner Bros. Discovery and Castro Pignataro. The production is produced by Diego Pignataro, directed by Luiza de Andrade and Bia Vilela. For Warner Bros. Discovery, the producers are Sergio Nakasone, Adriana Cechetti, and Luciana Soligo.
