New Delhi, May 19th, 2026 – Garmin, a global leader in performance-focused wearable technology, is strengthening its commitment to nurturing emerging athletic talent in India through a focused initiative in collaboration with MyKrida. As part of this initiative, seven promising athletes from tribal regions across the country have been equipped with Garmin’s advanced Forerunner smartwatches, enabling access to precise, real-time performance data to support structured training and measurable improvement.

These athletes, representing disciplines such as athletics and endurance sports, come from underrepresented regions and have been identified through MyKrida’s grassroots talent development program, which focuses on discovering and nurturing high-potential talent across India.

Built for serious athletes, the Garmin Forerunner series provides critical insights across heart rate, pace, distance, training load, recovery, and sleep. By enabling continuous performance tracking and data-backed decision-making, Garmin aims to help these athletes train with greater precision, optimise recovery, and improve consistency over time.

The initiative is being facilitated on-ground by MyKrida, a sports talent management and athlete development platform working across grassroots, professional, and elite levels, with a strong focus on bridging the gap between raw talent and structured high-performance ecosystems.

Commenting on the initiative, Mr. Deepak Raina, Director, AMIT GPS & Navigation LLP, said, “India has immense untapped athletic potential, particularly in regions where access to structured training tools remains limited. At Garmin, our focus is on enabling athletes with reliable, performance-led technology that brings clarity to how they train, recover, and improve. Through this initiative, we aim to support long-term athletic development and help these athletes compete with greater confidence and consistency.”

Adding to this, Shubham Sharma, Founder, MyKrida, said, “At MyKrida, we are committed to identifying and nurturing talent at the grassroots level, especially in regions where access to resources is limited. Collaborating with Garmin allows us to bring world-class performance technology directly to these athletes, enabling them to train smarter and accelerate their development.”

Through this initiative, Garmin continues to expand access to high-performance training tools in India, reinforcing its commitment to enabling the next generation of athletes to train smarter, compete stronger, and deliver consistent results.
