July 2023; To celebrate the opening of the world’s first “Fish & Chip Hotel” prototype in Blackpool this weekend, Gala Bingo unveiled an interactive OOH Special Build and branded pedicab fleet, bringing consumers together to share memorable moments by the seaside.
The bespoke OOH Special Build mimicked a classic 6 Sheet Shell, but instead of a digital screen, a branded beach towel was displayed on the fascia of the structure. Situated outside the Jolly Good Fish & Chip Hotel, the build provided guests with an interactive experience, allowing them to take a complimentary Gala Bingo beach towel from the structure to enjoy by the seaside. The world first activation was further celebrated through a fleet of pedicabs which parolled Blackpool Promenade to collect consumers, offering free rides to the Jolly Good Fish and Chip Hotel prototype.
Inspired by the iconic bingo call 33, fish, chips and peas, The Jolly Good Fish & Chip Hotel prototype popped up in the iconic coastal town of Blackpool on the 8th and 9th July, bringing people together to enjoy a complimentary serve of fish, chips and peas and games of bingo. Consumers also had a chance to snoop at Gala Bingo’s Jolly Good Fish & Chip Hotel suite, getting a flavour for what it would be like to spend a night in a fish and chip shop.
The project was creatively directed by Capture Communications. The creative ATL campaign which launched in May 2023 was created by neverland. Media for the event was planned and booked by the7stars.
