New York, September 1, 2026 – FCBA, the alumni association of former Interpublic Group agency FCB, today announced that it will host its second alumni gathering in New York in October.
The event, which takes place on Friday, October 9 at the Waldorf Astoria New York, coincides with the tail end of Advertising Week New York, when thousands of advertising, marketing, tech and media professionals from worldwide will be attending the annual event.
The group is currently in the midst of finalizing the event details. Highlights include a panel consisting of former FCB executives speaking on a fireside chat style panel moderated by a prominent industry journalist and a surprise FCB alum keynote speaker. (Stay tuned.)
The effort is part of FCBA’s mission to connect and reconnect alumni following the announcement late last year that FCB would wind down its operations after Omnicom’s acquisition of IPG.
In today’s digital and social media age, this initiative is noteworthy as it underscores how companies can smartly and creatively use new and emerging media channels to keep the spirit and community behind a brand alive. In the case of FCBA, the group is both defying and rewriting the idea of the traditional agency model.
“An agency is much more than the building where one goes to work or the sign above the door. Relationships are at the heart of this industry and that was our inspiration for founding and growing this community,” said FCBA Creator Nii Addo. “We’ve created a space for FCB alumni, wherever they may be today, to connect and reconnect and we’re proud to say that, to date, community engagement has been strong and the FCB spirit lives on!”
Launched in April 2026, the FCBA group has been keeping alumni worldwide informed, engaged and connected through initiatives such as a podcast series, alumni gatherings and an online community hub. One of its most recent podcast interviewees was FCB alum Tariq Hassan, who was appointed Wendy’s chief marketing and customer growth officer last week. (Hassan served as a VP, Planning Director, at FCB Chicago.)
Ten former FCB alumni are leading the charge on the FCB Alumni Project: Nii Addo, Elaine Wong, Tony Sharpe, Nathalynne McGinnis, Ernesto Adduci, Laird Stiefvater, Miguel Gonzalez, Brendan Ryan, Jonathan Harries and Mark Paccini. The group hosted the first alumni event in Chicago on May 29, 2026 at FCB Chicago’s former headquarters.
Details on the upcoming Manhattan reunion will be revealed shortly and posted on the alumni website.
