São Paulo, May 2026 — FilmBrazil, the internationalization platform of the Brazilian Association of Audiovisual Production Companies (APRO), in partnership with ApexBrasil (the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency), is once again participating in D&AD with the goal of promoting creativity and increasing recognition for Brazilian audiovisual production on the global stage.
FilmBrazil’s festival agenda began with a welcome happy hour for jurors on the opening night of the event at the Sea Containers Hotel. The gathering provided an opportunity for networking and celebrating creativity during the 2026 edition of the D&AD Festival.
FilmBrazil’s presence at the festival reinforces the importance of the British market for audiovisual exports. According to the association’s latest survey based on ANCINE records, the United Kingdom has surpassed the United States for the first time in export volume and is now the leading source country for investments in Production Service in Brazil. This category recently grew by 38%, generating USD 12.5 million.
“The United Kingdom currently ranks first among the countries with the highest export volume from our member production companies in the Production Service category. Being at D&AD is not just a branding initiative — it is a strategic commercial agenda. We combine our presence at the festival with business meetings to turn the prestige of our creativity into economic results, keeping Brazil competitively positioned on the radar of the world’s leading players,” said Marianna Souza, executive president of APRO and executive manager of FilmBrazil.
FilmBrazil also organized a parallel business agenda, including visits to major London agencies, with the goal of maximizing networking and business opportunities.
Beyond its presence in London, the partnership with D&AD also includes support for the curation of WHEXT in Brazil, including an exclusive masterclass held during the 2025 edition.
“Unlike other festivals, our relationship with D&AD has a unique synergy. Because it is a non-profit association, just like APRO, the exchange goes far beyond immediate commercial interests. There is also a training and technical development component that is deeply strategic for the growth and ongoing evolution of our production industry,” Marianna Souza added.
Balma Filmes, Boiler, DaHouse, Lobo / Vetor Zero, Kaus, and StratoStorm — all FilmBrazil-associated production companies — are participating in the event.
