Ferragamo’s Hug Bag Takes Center Stage in Matteo Mosterts’ ‘The Affair’
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Monday, October 27th – A woman. Her handbag. One luxurious secret. ‘The Affair,’ directed by Matteo Mosterts and produced by Florence and Habitant for Italian fashion house Ferragamo’s FW25 collection, is a sultry portrait of love, betrayal, and desire, told through the timeless elegance of the brand’s iconic “Hug Bag.”

A phone rings. A lover’s voice. a luxuriously dressed woman lies: “I’m with the girls.” Then, to her handbag, she whispers He suspects nothing. The film threads humor into heartbreak, exploring the story of two star-crossed lovers – a woman and her handbag – in a series of fragmented vignettes that capture the exquisite chaos of passion.

Conceived as an ambitious collaboration between Ferragamo, Mosterts, and lead actress Natasha Dupeyrón, ‘The Affair’ celebrates the brand’s signature sophistication, honoring the sculptural silhouette and allure of the “Hug Bag.”

Shot entirely in Mexico City at the Downtown Mexico Hotel, the production transformed the location into an emotional landscape, its architecture, light, and atmosphere informing the film’s rhythm and tone. The hotel’s team became part of the creative fabric itself, shaping both process and story.

An international co-production between two creative powerhouses, Florence (Los Angeles) and Habitant (Mexico City), ‘The Affair’ was edited by Dakota Giglio at Church Edit and colored by Ryan Urzi at Ethos Studio, whose post process evokes the refined cinematic elegance synonymous with Ferragamo: sensual, sophisticated, and timeless.
