New study conducted by researchers at UC Berkeley School of Public Healthwhich identified the presence of 16 different heavy metals, including lead and arsenic, in tampons. With this recent news,reaching out regarding the recent “Toxic Tampons” campaign from FCBCURE, an IPG Health Company. In partnership with Clean + Healthy, a New York State-based advocacy group focused on environmental health, the campaign is designed to tackle the toxic ingredients in menstrual care products.



The campaign includes visually shocking ads that confront people with the truth about Big Tampon’s big secret. FCBCURE and Clean + Healthy took the campaign to Albany, NY, activating students and pushing policymakers to ban PFAS and other toxic chemicals in menstrual products. Intersecting with the public, corporate brands and policymakers, “Toxic Tampons” helped champion the ultimate impact: a bill banning these chemicals unanimously passing in the NY Senate and on track to eventually become law.
