Elena Duerl Joins Wunderman Thompson Germany as Senior Consultant, CX

Elena Duerl Joins Wunderman Thompson Germany as Senior Consultant, CX

Elena was previously design strategist at Ogilvy

In addition to recently adding two new creative leaders, Wunderman Thompson Germany has further expanded its consulting and strategy activities by hiring the experienced strategist Elena Duerl.

Duerl joins as a senior consultant CX, combining her skills as a strategist with a focus on customer and brand experience and innovation. She looks back on a long history at WPP agency Ogilvy, where she was employed for seven years, most recently as design strategist. There she managed accounts in Germany as well as global accounts with a focus on other European markets. In addition to her strategy and CX experience, Duerl brings several years of experience in business development.

Immediately prior to joining Wunderman Thompson, Duerl worked as an innovation manager for an IT company.

Duerl says: “Wunderman Thompson offers a vibrant environment that combines different competencies into a strong unit. I find that absolutely exciting, because depending on the problem, the appropriate team setups are formed quickly and flexibly. My focus is primarily on consistently taking the perspective of the respective users and identifying valuable insights. My aspiration is to ensure an inspiring working environment for creativity in order to develop holistic solutions along the customer journey together with our customers and experts in the team, which combine user needs with the brand attitude, product vision and spirit of the times.”

Duerl will report directly to Matthias Lindenberger, head of consulting at Wunderman Thompson. “We are delighted to have gained an absolute customer experience expert in Elena,” Lindenberger said about Duerl. “This will strengthen our customer-centric strategy and consulting approach.”

Together with Elena Duerl, Robert Ehlers took up his position as UX director at the agency in April.

These new hires strengthen Wunderman Thompson’s focus on customer centricity through strategy, consulting and experience design.
