eBay and JOAN Spotlight McLaren Formula 1 Team Superfans in Social-Forward Motors Series

JOAN and eBay Motors have teamed up to create Drive to Silverstone, a two-part original content series that blends docu-style storytelling with the energy of McLaren Formula 1 Team.

  • Launched June 30, the second short-form social film continues the global partnership between eBay and the McLaren Formula 1 Team to spotlight real stories from the global car community.
  • The film brings a human lens to automotive passion, capturing how real people prepare for the moments that matter most, both on and off the track.
  • The full series is timed to key races on the McLaren Formula 1 Team calendar, including stops in Miami (May), Silverstone (June), Monza (September), and Las Vegas (November) — each film spotlighting a different voice within the global car community.

“The Drive To” series uncovers the stories of passionate communities that congregate around the McLaren Formula 1 Team – whether their love of car culture is just blossoming or decades old. Directed by Siri Bunford of Knucklehead and spearheaded by JOAN London, The Drive to Silverstone follows Aiden — a McLaren Formula 1 Team superfan — on his drive to his and McLaren’s home race, Silverstone. Along the way, we uncover what drives his love of cars, the McLaren Formula 1 Team, and F1 as a whole, as well as showcasing how eBay helps him prepare for his big weekend ahead.

  • By featuring a genuine car enthusiast and showcasing their passion, the campaign highlights how eBay supports people in pursuing what they love, rooted in emotional storytelling and authenticity. Featuring a relatable and likeable personality helps bring authenticity to the content, which is a quality within eBay’s brand values. 

The ongoing partnership between eBay and the McLaren Formula 1 Team is a fusion of two worlds driven by passion and performance. eBay, a global hub for automotive parts and accessories, meets the McLaren Formula 1 Team’s cutting-edge racing excellence to celebrate innovation, dedication, and the drive for perfection.

Since being named creative AOR last year, the relationship between JOAN and eBay continues to produce standout, socially-led work that balances heart, performance, and brand-building in equal measure.
