DoorDash Deliver Us to Fútbol: Transforming a Brand Logo into a Live Scoreboard
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Some campaigns succeed because they reach large audiences. Others succeed because people cannot stop talking about them. DoorDash’s “Deliver Us to Fútbol” campaign achieved both.

Created by GUT LA, WPP Media, and DOOH.com, the campaign was designed around the pace, unpredictability and emotion of the FIFA World Cup 2026™. Running across all 104 matches during the 39-day tournament, it used real-time match data to ensure the creative remained relevant from the opening fixture to the final whistle.

At the heart of the campaign was a simple but powerful idea. Rather than treating the DoorDash logo as a static brand asset, it became part of the sporting action itself. As each match concluded, the logo transformed into a live scoreboard, updating instantly to reflect the latest result.

The execution appeared across some of the most prominent DOOH locations in the United States, including New Tradition’s The Reef in Downtown Los Angeles, premium placements in New York throughout Times Square and Pivot Digital Barges sailing around Miami, spotlighting the tournament’s host cities. Every screen became a live extension of the tournament, reacting in real time to the drama unfolding on the pitch.

What followed was a level of engagement few campaigns achieve. Videos and images of the logo transformation quickly spread across Instagram, LinkedIn and industry channels, generating hundreds of shares and thousands of engagements.

The campaign resonated because it arrived at exactly the right moment. During major sporting events, audiences are already actively following results, discussing matches and sharing reactions. By transforming its logo into a live scoreboard, DoorDash inserted itself naturally into that behavior.

The creative also demonstrated the power of dynamic DOOH when used with a clear purpose. Rather than using live data as a technical feature, the campaign used it to enhance the story. Every update mattered because every score mattered. The technology served the moment, creating an experience that felt timely, useful and genuinely connected to the audience.

By combining precision planning with responsive creative, DoorDash maintained a consistent brand presence throughout the tournament while ensuring every placement reflected the latest action. The result was a campaign that felt alive, mirroring the pace of live sport and evolving alongside one of the world’s biggest cultural events.

McKenzie Roese, Director of Brand Growth at DoorDash, said, “customer-centric marketing starts with understanding how people behave during the moments that matter most. During the World Cup, fans are constantly following scores, sharing reactions and celebrating together. We designed this campaign to become part of that natural behavior, using creativity and technology to make our brand feel more connected to the live experience.”

Brad Backenstose, Executive Client President at WPP Media, said: “The brilliance of this campaign was its simplicity. Dynamic OOH allowed the ability to take a familiar brand asset and transformed it into a real-time scoreboard which fans genuinely wanted to engage with. By connecting DoorDash directly to the emotion and immediacy of the live matches, we created a campaign that was not only relevant in the moment but compelling enough to be shared far beyond the screen.”
