During the sold-out Boxing Day Test at the MCG, The Shane Warne Legacy unveiled Don’t Waste a Beat—a touching film that celebrates the life, achievements, and vibrant spirit of Shane Warne. The film serves as both a tribute to the cricketing legend and a call to action for Australians to take the Shane Warne Legacy Health Check.
Created in collaboration with Thinkerbell, FINCH, and Shane’s close friends and family, the film features rarely seen moments from Warne’s life. Set to an a cappella rendition of Robbie Williams’ Feel, the emotive soundtrack underscores the depth and significance of his enduring legacy.
Helen Nolan, CEO of The Shane Warne Legacy, shared:
“Shane’s sudden and tragic passing brought heart health awareness to the forefront. Almost 45% of those who complete the Shane Warne Legacy Health Check are referred to their GP for further evaluation. This highlights the life-saving impact of Shane’s story and the vital role his legacy plays in encouraging Australians to take their heart health seriously.”
Director Michael Hili of FINCH reflected on the film’s imagery:
“The photos capture Shane’s essence—his childhood, cherished moments with his children, and life both on and off the field. When we see Shane on the pitch, we see Shane Warne the person, not just the cricketer. These images portray his humor, love for family, and a full life tragically cut short. Through this, we hope to inspire Australians to honor his legacy by prioritizing their own heart health.”
Tom Wenborn, Chief Tinker at Thinkerbell, added:
“Distilling a life as extraordinary as Shane’s into 60 seconds is no easy task. Our aim was to highlight the importance of every moment, and we couldn’t have done it without the support of Shane’s family and friends. The journey has been filled with laughter, tears, and smiles, but it’s all been worth it to honor such an incredible legacy.”
Don’t Waste a Beat reminds Australians that Shane Warne’s story is more than a cricketing legacy—it’s a life-saving message to cherish every heartbeat.
