In a dynamic collaboration across Malaysia and Thailand, Directors Think Tank Singapore, under the creative leadership of Shu Ying, has crafted a captivating film for Toyota in partnership with Dentsu Singapore. This ambitious project was fueled by meticulous planning, adaptability, and inventive problem-solving.
The project exemplifies the power of teamwork, as DTT Singapore seamlessly joined forces with DTT Malaysia and Benetone Thailand. This blend of expertise and camaraderie highlights that the best creative outcomes emerge from a collaborative spirit and a touch of fun.
Director Nicholas Lam reflected on the experience, saying, “This ranks as one of the most fulfilling projects of our careers. Growing up between Asia and the United States, I often felt overlooked because I didn’t see role models who looked like me. I wanted this campaign to inspire children who feel underrepresented, showing them that through determination and support, they too can shine on a global stage.”
Lam continued, “The campaign demanded a Herculean effort, involving an international team and coordination of eleven Olympians and Paralympians over a 12-day shoot, with months of planning and post-production. Despite the scale of the project, every aspect—from client to agency to production—was perfectly aligned, driven by a shared vision of heart and humanity. The process felt like a cosmic alignment, and I am deeply grateful for the experience.”
The film, which showcases Toyota’s commitment to teamwork and showcases the triumph of perseverance, is a testament to the refreshing and captivating results of a well-orchestrated production journey.
