Los Angeles – (November 13, 2023) – Raucous Content Director Amy Nicholson debuts her new documentary feature film Happy Campers at the prestigious DOC NYC Film Festival in New York City.
“In my commercial work, I‘m passionately dedicated to authentically capturing all the little details of life that make it infinitely interesting,” shares Nicholson. “With Happy Campers, I had the good fortune of discovering a community that comprised the perfect storm of every element I love: genuine stories told by protagonists dripping with character, who personify my sense of humor and odd-ball-yet-hopeful perspective.”
The beautifully told documentary feature film depicts working-class Americans escaping their ordinary routines to gather during the summer at a seaside trailer park in Chincoteague, Virginia, to relish the uncomplicated delights of a rustic vacation spot within each others’ company. Their shabby Shangri-La is suddenly interrupted by the march of capitalism when a developer acquires the land and transforms the property. As the residents of this beloved haven savor the bittersweet moments of their final summer together, they reveal the secrets to a rich life.
Happy Campers will screen in-person on Tuesday, November 14 & Wednesday November 15 at the IFC Center with additional online dates from November 15-26.
