Digital Payments Platform Shieldpay appoints The PHA Group
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

London, UK, 5th August –  Leading independent PR and communications agency The PHA Group has been appointed by Shieldpay, a UK-based digital payments platform for the professional services sector, to lead its press office.

The partnership will see The PHA Group manage Shieldpay’s press office function, driving media awareness of key business milestones and positioning the company as a trusted voice in secure, compliant digital payment solutions across professional services.

A key focus of the collaboration will be elevating Shieldpay’s role in shaping industry discourse around the Solicitors Regulation Authority’s (SRA) live consultation on how client money is managed within legal practices. Additionally, The PHA Group will support Shieldpay’s presence in the North of England where the company has an expanding network of legal firms and strategic partners.

Shieldpay was founded by Peter Janes in 2016 to make complex payments simple and secure through the introduction of digital escrow technology. Now under the leadership of CEO Sophie Condie, the company is on a mission to become the trusted payment rails for the professional services sector, having processed £15.55 billion to date.

Shieldpay is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) under the Payment Services Regulations 2017, and Shieldpay Trustee Services Limited is registered and supervised by HMRC for anti-money laundering purposes.

Sophie Condie, CEO of Shieldpay, said: “We’re thrilled to be partnering with The PHA Group at such a pivotal time for Shieldpay and the wider professional services sector. As we continue to scale and support firms navigating increasingly complex regulatory landscapes, it’s vital that our voice is heard in the conversations that matter. With PHA’s strategic insight and media expertise, we’re confident we can amplify our mission to deliver secure, compliant, and seamless payment solutions across the UK and beyond.”

Rhys Merrett, Head of Technology at The PHA Group, added: “Shieldpay is an exciting and ambitious fintech operating at a critical intersection of technology, finance, and the legal sector. We look forward to working closely with them to ensure they remain at the forefront of industry discussions, championing the importance of safe, seamless, and compliant payment processes in the professional services landscape. Importantly, Shieldpay’s company culture and values closely align with PHA’s, fostering trust, collaboration, and a shared commitment to integrity and innovation.”
