Today, Dazed Studio announces Parafaith: The Future of Youth Culture Report, an expansive global research project revealing how Gen Z and Gen Alpha are rebuilding identity, meaning, and trust in a post-institutional world. Dazed Studio is a cultural strategy and storytelling-led creative partner to brands that want to matter to the audiences shaping what’s next.

For the agency’s third Future Of Youth Culture Report, Dazed Studio identifies the emergence of “Parafaith,” a new cultural condition where belief is no longer inherited, but assembled through fragmented micro-beliefs, creators, and symbols.
Spanning five chapters, namely Identity, Media, Society, Culture and Heroes, each including three trends, case studies, and a visual brand model, the expansive study explores the following:

  • What brands need to know about youth culture and what interests define people the most
  • Rules of relevance for brands
  • How generations of the future weigh intelligence
  • How hope is the new cultural rebellion

Based on 2,000+ respondents and over 30 global expert interviews, the findings reveal a generation withdrawing from the “performative internet” to find “emotional truth.” Here are a few key stats:

  • Quality Over Hype: When purchasing from a brand, 39% of Gen Z prioritize product design and quality. Traditional advertising (1%) and talent ambassadors (0.4%) carry almost zero weight. 20% say sustainability and ethics directly influence what they buy, signalling a shift from trend-led consumption to value-led choice.
  • Today’s Icons are Real Heroes: Only 1% of youth are influenced by celebrities, and just 6% by traditional influencers. By contrast, friends (25%) and family members (20%) had a much larger impact.
  • AI vs. Humanity: While 67% use AI for productivity, only 18% trust it to make creative or cultural decisions. 71% say human-made culture matters more in an AI-saturated world.
  • The 200% Culture Multiplier: Actively partnering with cultural entities makes a brand 200% more influential to youth than standard ad campaigns.

The study reflects Dazed Studio’s commitment to culturally resonant work, showcasing their deep understanding of how people connect with brands today by examining every aspect of their belief system. The report concludes with the following takeaway: “The future doesn’t belong to the loudest brand. It belongs to the one people choose to keep.”

On June 23rd, Dazed Studio held a private roundtable event in NYC that gave an early look at findings from the report and brought together senior leaders from brands including Hinge, American Express, Fanatics, Google, AirBnB, & Aveda to discuss emerging shifts in youth culture and what they mean for brands.
