David Carson teams up with Lola to launch the agency’s Crazy Ambition globally

Legendary graphic designer David Carson has teamed up with Lola to launch the agency’s Crazy Ambition globally. The iconic Madrid-born creative agency is evolving into a global micro-network, with an established foothold in Spain, and a newly launched presence in Brazil and the United States.

To announce their global expansion, Lola partnered with David Carson, widely considered one of the most brilliant designers in the history of the discipline, to create a visual campaign that is as much a statement of philosophy as it is a brand identity.

The new global visual identity was developed in partnership with DxD, TBWA’s design arm (led by Bruno Regalo), and serves as the creative foundation for Lola’s expanded worldwide presence. Involving Carson, one of the most iconic designers of all-time, is a proof point that this is the kind of agency that launches with “Crazy Ambition Makes Serious Things Happen,” attracts world-class creative talent, and holds itself to an uncompromising standard.

A 2:20 film sits at the center of the campaign. The video introduces Lola as an ambitious, globally minded creative company built on passion, collaboration, and the pursuit of ideas that make a lasting impact.

David Carson created a series of graphic art expressions using his distinctive style, with each artwork telling a story about Lola’s Crazy Ambition:

  • Each artwork is a collage representing previous creative work from each agency, as well as scrap from each city, and where appropriate, logos of the agencies that came together to form Lola (i.e., Lew\Lara, 180 US, Mullen Lowe, adam&eveDDB).
  • The work depicts Crazy Ambition for clients including Molson Coors out of the U.S., AXE out of Brazil, and KFC out of Madrid.
  • A new Lola global visual identity, evidenced in the agency’s owned touchpoints on web and social, and referred to as the ‘Las Calles’ creative direction, inspired by the hand-painted traditional azulejos/ tiled street signs of Madrid.

Drawing literal inspiration from the streets is a deliberate nod to Lola’s connection to local creative culture. The collaboration between three global offices, DxD, and David Carson is living proof point of the agency’s open and expansive view of creativity.

The campaign is now live across owned channels for both Lola and David Carson — web, social, and physical spaces.
