In Brazil, the stark reality of social inequality manifests directly in English proficiency: only 1% of the population masters the language. In response, CNA, a prominent language education network in the country, is dedicated to democratizing access to language learning opportunities for Brazilians.
In a groundbreaking initiative to make English practice more accessible, CNA has launched the first-ever in-game exchange program: “Gaming Exchange“. This innovative project aims to provide Brazilian students with a free exchange experience with native English speakers, all within the confines of the immensely popular game, Fortnite, and from the comfort of their own homes.
For many Brazilians, the opportunity for cultural exchange, particularly in English-speaking countries like the United States, is a coveted aspiration. However, economic challenges over the past decade have rendered this dream virtually unattainable for the middle class, diminishing their purchasing power.
Recognizing this barrier, CNA, the largest English school in Brazil boasting over 700 schools nationwide and serving 100,000 students, devised the Gaming Exchange program. This immersive exchange experience takes place within Fortnite, allowing participants to interact and engage in language practice while playing together
