CHEP Tech has welcomed Cliff Chiang as its director of engineering, joining from his previous role as national head of technology at Isobar.
During his time at Isobar, Chiang led a range of sophisticated tech projects such as Swinburne University’s digital transformation program which includes the award-winning virtual Open Day platform, Swintopia and the launch of Mitsubishi’s new web and e-commerce experience. In his new role, Cliff will be responsible for technical strategy and driving engineering standards on some of CHEP’s largest clients.
His appointment comes amongst a raft of new hires in the CHEP Tech business as it continues to reinforce its credentials as one of Australasia’s leading tech and website development practices.
Mark Gretton, CTO of CHEP and leader of the technology services practice said, “Whilst COVID certainly has had some detrimental impacts on some parts of the industry, CHEP Tech has gone from strength to strength, delivering significant growth throughout 2020 and 2021 both internally and for the clients we support.
“Our software agnostic, business goal driven partnership model for technical services feels well aligned to the needs of the industry right now, as clients strive for greater ROI from their customer experience investments that support unlocking greater operational efficiencies and growth.
“As other agencies have faced significant change management programs to adapt, we’re delighted to have picked up brilliant talent like Cliff to continue to drive our standards forward in web platform build, BI, MarTech, creative tech, commerce, personalisation and cloud data engineering services.
“With huge platforms like anz.co.nz, mazda.com.au and queensland.com now under our belt, the CHEP Tech team continues to go from strength to strength, and we’re looking forward to seeing the impact that Cliff has for our business and our clients.”
Chiang commented, “After leaving Isobar, I was looking for an opportunity where I could play more of a meaningful, consulting role as well as delivering high quality, innovative work. CHEP’s business model of building enduring partnerships with clients to drive ongoing growth through the application of technology innovation really appealed to me. Having so many connected disciplines and capabilities under one roof means that we can truly think about business problems with an agnostic mindset and how best to help clients drive ROI. The fact that there are a number of familiar faces in the team will mean I can really hit the ground running in my new role.”
