Director Charlotte Regan has officially joined the Somesuch roster for representation across commercials, music videos, and branded content worldwide. Known for her vibrant, surrealist approach to storytelling, Regan has gained widespread acclaim for her ability to depict real-life narratives with a unique flair.
Regan’s rise to prominence was solidified with the international success of her debut feature, Scrapper, which premiered at Sundance 2023, where it won the World Dramatic Grand Jury Prize. Following this achievement, Scrapper was nominated for Best British Film at the 2024 BAFTAs, where Charlotte was also honored as a BAFTA Breakthrough Brit.
In addition to her film achievements, Regan has applied her distinctive style to commercial work, directing campaigns for brands like Alzheimer’s Society, British Airways, Macmillan, and Cadbury. She has also directed episodes of hit TV shows such as The Responder (BBC) and Buccaneers (Apple TV), and is currently writing MINT, an eight-part series commissioned by the BBC.
A Hackney native, Regan’s filmmaking journey began at 15 when she started shooting low-budget music videos in Islington for local rappers during the rise of Grime. She created over 200 music videos during this period, marking the start of her career.
Her transition from music videos to short films was seamless, with her debut short, Standby, earning a BAFTA nomination. This was followed by her shorts Fry-Up and Dodgy Dave, both of which premiered at prestigious festivals including Sundance, Berlinale, BFI London Film Festival, and TIFF.
Recognized for her exceptional narrative and craft, Regan was the subject of a Barbican retrospective of her short films in 2019 at just 25 years old. She was also named a Sundance Ignite Fellow and a Screen International Star of Tomorrow in 2020.
Charlotte Regan’s addition to Somesuch marks an exciting new chapter in her already impressive career, further expanding her reach in commercials, music videos, and branded content on a global scale.
