To teach financial education to children, the institution takes the Poupançudos to a new universe developed in Roblox. With a project conceived by Deponto Agência, CAIXA is making its gaming debut on one of the world’s most popular gaming and virtual experience platforms, Roblox.
Deponto developed the “CAIXA Universe” in the game, where there are educational dynamics and challenges that allow players to invest “CAIXA Coins” in the “CAIXA Agency” and, through the bank, unlock accessories and boosts to improve their performance in the challenges. The Poupançudos, characters launched by the institution 18 years ago, who have recently gained modern and diverse versions also designed by Deponto, are the partners in the adventures proposed within the CAIXA Universe.
Developing the new game presented challenges that required innovation and strategy to guarantee an educational and engaging experience for users. According to Daniel Pignaton Azevedo, Deponto’s CEO, “Creating a virtual space that balances gamification and financial education required a deep understanding of the behavior of gamers on the platform, as well as adapting the Poupançudos identity to the digital universe.” Also according to Daniel, the implementation of the “CAIXA Coins” currency logic to guarantee fair and attractive rewards mechanics, with fluid integration between the game’s visual, interactive and narrative elements, was also a challenging point during the work.

The main aim of this project is to introduce children to the principles of Financial Education and Sustainability. “We thought of an environment to teach, play and transform the young public’s relationship with money,” explains Estevão Cezário – CAIXA’s National Superintendent. “Entering the world of virtual games and using this platform allows us not only to attract users, but also to develop actions that, over time, make the practices and rewards leave the virtual environment for the real world,” he concludes.
